Sesame Lane North Lakes Asley Parade is a unique 2 story Service conveniently situated along side of Supa IGA and United Medical Centres North Lakes. We are in a well situated position within the community of North Lakes and in easy distance of the new North Lakes station.

From the time our Service opened in 2013 we have become a great part of our local community and are always seeking involvement that will strengthen our presence and community relationships. We encourage all children and families to become a part of our Service and local community each and every day, by holding events and special gatherings designed to support our children’s sense of belonging and our family’s community ties.

Our Service provides learning environments that encourage and inspire learning early as the first 5 years of a child’s life are the most important to their growth and development.  Throughout each day the children have opportunities to experience a play based curriculum which parents, families and visitors are welcome to join in on and participate. Our doors are always open.

Our Children’s Cook regularly provides both group and one-on-one cooking experiences with our children which encourages involvement in their own wellbeing by preparing and trying new foods and making healthy food choices; a great habit children will carry with them as they grow.

Our qualified Teacher, Lead Educators and Educators are trained, mentored and inspired by Sesame Lane’s professional development programs.  It’s our promise that each day we will inspire all children to become Happy Healthy Learners, not just for their early years, but to develop a love of learning which will last them a lifetime.

Our Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program is supported by our Bachelor qualified Teacher to ensure that each child is prepared to the best of their own ability in learning the social and academic skills they’ll need when they take the leap to “big school”.

This Service has all the benefits of long day care such as opening hours from 6.30 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday. But the extra benefits are what really make this Service unique. The following are all inclusive of the daily fee;

  • Government Approved Kindergarten Program and educational programs developed through intentional teachings and children’s interests.
  • Free nappy and linen service for children under 2 years which includes disposable nappies along with bedding for nap time.
  • An exclusive Japanese program delivered by Senesi Kayo, a fully qualified Japanese Teacher who introduces the concept of Japan and brings the language to life through songs, cooking, craft and other cultural activities.
  • A new exclusive Music and Drama program delivered by Red Music designed to spark creativity, stimulate learning and instil a love of music and movement.
  • Nutritionally balanced meals and snacks are cooked fresh daily in the Service kitchen using locally sourced seasonal produce.
  • Before and After School Care with free pick up and drop off to local schools. This service also provides Vacation Care during school holidays.

Service Manager / Nominated Supervisor

Qualifications: Certificate III, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services

I was first introduced to the industry by a friend and mentor 16 years ago and today I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful opportunities I’ve had to build amazing relationships with children and families.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of assisting school age children and helping younger children develop their school readiness in kindergarten. Along the way came the opportunity to step up as Service Manager at North Lakes, a position I’ve held for 14 years. During this time, I have managed, mentored, supported and guided both educators and children as they grow into happy, healthy learners.

For me, the best part of each day is witnessing relationships grow stronger and stronger, and watching children smile once they have achieved their goals. I love hearing the chorus of ‘Good mornings’ as they arrive for the day and pop into my office for a chat. The best thing is receiving cuddles that fill my day with joy and happiness.

I believe all children need to feel motivated, excited and encouraged if they are to learn as much as they can and develop skills that will last a lifetime. Each day at our service is filled with fun, smiles and laughter. This in itself gives children a sense of belonging that allows them to become that special little helper, doctor, mechanic, hairdresser or whatever they want to be that day.

With a focus on positive learning spaces and engaging opportunities, my team strives to give children a sense of being and belong, as recommended by the Early Learning Framework. Coming on this wonderful journey with us enhances any child’s ability to learn and thrive.
